Bent Rhythm is an independent electronic music label out of the DC area, started in 2024 by three friends who have been DJing since the 90s and 2000s. We put out raw, eclectic, electronic dance and ambient music: dub, acid, lo-fi, house, techno, nu disco, electronica, and whatever else feels right.
Founders
Maxwell JS
Maxwell JS, once known in the DC house and techno scene as Measax, has been shaping sounds since the 90s, before his first club gig. His path runs through DJ residencies with 88DC, raves thrown with friends, and production for early independent labels. His releases, solo and joint, blend ghetto, house, techno, dub, pop and electronica.
B8E
Brian, known as DJ B80 across the East Coast club scene and now a co-founder of Bent Rhythm. A DJ for more than two decades and a producer for almost as many, he pulls his influences into one cohesive sound, club or home, dark or light. A former lead guitarist in the 90s alt-rock band Shades of Me, his eclectic background feeds his house, techno and dub electronica.
Sinestro
Chris, also Sinestro, Mirrored Shades, Darik Wyldstar and Kuromaku, began DJing in 1994 across every major US city, holding residencies at Buzz, The Edge, Sleaze, Sutra and The Acid House. He has more than 30 releases to his name, including club hits on Woody McBride's Communique and Frankie Bones's Hard to Swallow imprints.
