Acceptance of Terms

By using bentrhythm.com (the "Site"), you agree to these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, do not use the Site.

These Terms are a binding agreement between you and Bent Rhythm. Using the Site, browsing the discography, playing a preview, reading the Dispatch, or sending us anything counts as agreement.

About This Site

Bent Rhythm is an independent electronic music record label based in Washington, DC, United States, founded in 2024. The Site is operated by the Bent Rhythm label and its founders.

The Site exists to showcase our discography, share short audio previews, run our editorial section ("Dispatch"), and point you toward third-party platforms where you can stream or buy the full music. The Site is not a store and does not sell music directly.

Intellectual Property and Ownership

Everything on the Site is protected. All music, audio recordings, artwork, cover images, logos, photography, video, design, and text are owned by Bent Rhythm, our artists, or our licensors, and are protected by United States and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.

"Bent Rhythm," our logo, and our release artwork are our marks and property. Nothing on the Site grants you any license or ownership right except the limited right to view the Site as described below.

Permitted Use and Restrictions

You may use the Site for personal, non-commercial browsing only. That means looking at the discography, reading the Dispatch, and playing previews for your own enjoyment.

You may not, without our prior written permission:

• Scrape, crawl, harvest, or use any automated system to collect content or data from the Site.
• Download, copy, rip, record, or capture any audio, artwork, photography, or text from the Site.
• Redistribute, republish, broadcast, or display any of our content anywhere else.
• Sample, remix, or reuse any audio or artwork in any other work.
• Use any content for commercial purposes, including advertising, resale, or promotion.
• Reverse engineer, interfere with, or attempt to break the Site or its security.
• Remove or alter any copyright, credit, or ownership notice.

If you want to license, feature, or reuse anything you find here, email info@bentrhythm.com and ask. The answer might be yes, but only in writing.

Audio Previews

The audio clips on the Site are short previews. They are there so you can sample a track before deciding to stream or buy it on a third-party platform.

Previews are for listening on the Site only. They are not for download, capture, rebroadcast, sampling, or reuse of any kind. To hear or own the full music, use the streaming and purchase links we provide.

User Submissions

The Site accepts submissions, including demos (demos@bentrhythm.com), Dispatch and blog pitches (blog@bentrhythm.com), booking and general inquiries, and any comments or messages you send us.

By sending us anything, you agree to the following.

• Nothing is confidential. Any submission is made on a non-confidential basis. Do not send us anything you consider secret or sensitive. No confidential or fiduciary relationship is created by your submission.
• You own what you send. You warrant that you own or control all rights to the material you submit, that it is your original work or properly cleared, and that it does not infringe anyone else's rights or break any law.
• You grant us a license to review. You grant Bent Rhythm a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide license to receive, listen to, read, store, and evaluate your submission. Any further use, such as signing, releasing, publishing, or promoting your material, happens only under a separate written agreement signed by both sides.
• We owe you nothing for unsolicited material. We receive a lot of submissions. We are under no obligation to respond to, review, return, store, keep confidential, or pay for any unsolicited submission. If we develop or release something that resembles material you sent, you waive any claim arising from that resemblance, unless we have a signed agreement covering it.

Third-Party Links and Services

The Site links out to third-party platforms, including Spotify, Bandcamp, Beatport, SoundCloud, and Apple Music, so you can stream or buy full tracks.

We do not control those platforms and we are not responsible for them. Their content, pricing, availability, terms, and privacy practices are their own. When you leave the Site through one of our links, their rules apply, not ours. A link is not an endorsement, and we are not liable for anything that happens on a third-party service.

No Warranties

The Site is provided "as is" and "as available," with all faults and without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

We do not promise that the Site will be uninterrupted, error-free, secure, or free of harmful components, or that any content, link, or preview will always be accurate, current, or available. To the fullest extent allowed by law, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. You use the Site at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Bent Rhythm, its founders, artists, contributors, and licensors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, goodwill, or business, arising out of or related to your use of (or inability to use) the Site, even if we have been advised that such damages are possible.

If any liability cannot be excluded, our total liability to you for all claims connected to the Site is limited to one hundred US dollars ($100).

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Bent Rhythm, its founders, artists, contributors, and licensors from any claims, damages, losses, liabilities, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Site, your submissions, your breach of these Terms, or your violation of any law or any third party's rights.

Privacy

When you email us or send a submission, you share contact information such as your name and email address. We use it only to respond to you, evaluate what you sent, and manage our relationship with you. We do not sell your contact information.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date at the top. Continuing to use the Site after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Check back now and then.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the District of Columbia and applicable United States federal law, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute connected to the Site or these Terms will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the District of Columbia, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
