BENT RHYTHM · VIBED OUT ELECTRONIC MUSIC

Legal

Privacy Policy

Last updated: August 2026

The Short Version

Bent Rhythm is an independent record label, not an advertising business. We do not sell your personal information, we do not rent or trade our list, and we do not cold call or cold text anyone.

If you give us your email, you get occasional label mail: a new release, a Dispatch piece, the odd bit of label news. Not a lot of it. Every message has an unsubscribe link and it works on the first click.

Our music stays free to stream. Buying anything is always optional.

Who We Are

Bent Rhythm is an independent electronic music label based in Washington, DC, founded in 2024. This policy covers bentrhythm.com (the "Site").

For anything in this policy, including access and deletion requests: info@bentrhythm.com.

What We Collect

When you sign up for our list. Your email address, and your first name if you give it. That is the whole form. You are telling us to send you label mail, and that is what we do with it.

When you email us. Whatever you put in the message. Demos go to demos@bentrhythm.com, bookings to bookings@bentrhythm.com, everything else to info@bentrhythm.com. We use it to answer you and to consider what you sent.

When you browse. Aggregate, anonymous traffic measurement: pages viewed, rough country, device type, and the site that referred you. We use Vercel Web Analytics for this, which does not use cookies and does not build a profile of you or follow you across other sites. Our web host also keeps standard server logs, including IP addresses, for security and reliability.

What we do not collect. We do not run advertising trackers or ad pixels. We do not use your data to build audiences for advertising anywhere. We have no interest in tracking you around the internet.

Cookies

The Site sets no cookies of its own.

One Dispatch article, the DMV oral history, embeds video and audio players from YouTube, SoundCloud and Facebook so you can watch and hear the archive footage in place. Those players are run by those companies and can set their own cookies when they load. That is their processing under their policies, not ours. If you would rather avoid it, do not open that article, or block third-party cookies in your browser.

Phone Numbers and Text Messages

We do not currently collect phone numbers.

If we ever add an optional phone field, it will be exactly that: optional, opt-in, and clearly labeled where we collect it. It would be used only for occasional release announcements, the text equivalent of "the new one is out." We will not use it for sales calls, sales texts, telemarketing, or anything you did not ask for, and we will not share or sell it. Standard message and data rates would apply, STOP would end messages, and HELP would get help.

Why We Use It

  • To send the label mail you asked for, and only that.
  • To answer emails, listen to demos, and handle bookings, press and licensing.
  • To keep the Site working, fast and secure.
  • To understand in aggregate which pages people actually read.
  • To meet legal obligations when we have to.

Our lawful bases, for anyone who needs them named: your consent for marketing email, our legitimate interest in running and securing the Site, and legal obligation where it applies.

Who Processes It

We use a small number of service providers. They process data on our instructions, for us, and are not permitted to use it for their own purposes.

  • GoHighLevel (LeadConnector) stores our contact list and sends our email. Our sending domain is send.bentrhythm.com.
  • Vercel hosts the Site and provides the cookieless analytics described above.
  • Supabase stores the catalogue itself: releases, artists, tracks and Dispatch posts. It holds no visitor data.
  • Google Workspace runs our @bentrhythm.com email, so anything you email us lives there.

We do not sell or share your personal information, including for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we have not done so in the past twelve months. Naming these providers is the honest version of "we do not share your data," because running an email list means someone has to store and deliver it.

Outside these providers, we will disclose personal information only if the law requires it, or to protect our rights, safety or the Site.

How Long We Keep It

Your email stays on the list until you unsubscribe or ask us to remove it. Unsubscribe and we stop sending, keeping only the minimum needed to honor that choice so we do not accidentally add you back later.

Emails you send us are kept while the conversation is useful and then cleared out in the normal course. Analytics data is aggregate and retained on a rolling window by our provider.

Your Choices and Rights

Unsubscribe. Every email has a link at the bottom. One click. You can also reply and say stop, or email info@bentrhythm.com.

Access, correction, deletion, or a copy of your data. Email info@bentrhythm.com and tell us what you want. We will handle it and will not make it difficult.

Depending on where you live you may have specific rights. California residents have rights under the CCPA and CPRA, including to know, delete, correct, and opt out of sale or sharing, neither of which we do, and not to be treated differently for asking. Visitors in the EU and UK have rights under the GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, and withdrawing consent at any time. We apply the same approach to everyone wherever you are. Ask, and we will do it.

International Visitors

We operate from the United States and our providers store data there. If you are contacting us from elsewhere, you are sending your information to the US, where privacy law differs from your own.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information. If you believe a child has sent us something, email info@bentrhythm.com and we will delete it.

Security

We use reputable providers and keep access limited to the founders. No site is perfectly secure and we are not going to pretend otherwise, but we do not collect much in the first place, which is the best protection we can offer you.

Changes

We will update this policy when what we do changes, for example when the signup form goes live or if we ever add phone numbers. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date above. Material changes get called out in the label mail rather than slipped in quietly.
